Skills of Body Language
Body language is a very important and interesting topic. There are lots of
people who do not use words for communicating always but they do express themselves through gestures and
signals.
You might feel yourself lost or misplaced if you are not aware of these body languages and are found in between a
group of people who use these gestures. In this article, we would have a look at all the different signs and
gestures along with their meanings and try to understand the subject of body language further.
Body language is a very fascinating way of expressing things through gestures and signals and not many people know
that the amount of information or things people could communicate through these gestures is enormous. A person can
hide his feelings through words but he or she will not be able to do so through these physical gestures. A person’s
attitude and character can be easily found out with the help of these signals and gestures.
If a person has his arms crossed then it means that he is more defensive and cautious about things that he does. A
person resting his or her chin on the palms means that he is a bit more critical and cynical about the person who
is in front of him.
Such gestures could be easily noticed during an interview session when the interviewer is not extremely impressed
or happy by the performance of the candidate during the interview. Taking off the eye glasses and cleaning them
slowly means that the person wants some time to think before making any comments or raising any questions.
People fiddling or rubbing their nose means that they are in doubt and are not very sure as to how will things turn
up for them in the future. A direct eye contact while conversations mean that the person is interested in you and
is more than willing to listen to whatever you want to say. If there is no eye contact, then it means that he is no
more interested and just wants you to cut the crap. Smiling eyes or relaxed eyebrows are all signs of being at ease
and comfort.
If a person is found tapping his or her fingers, then it means that he or she is either bored or anxious about
things that are likely to happen. If a person is leaning forward when he is sitting on the chair, then it means
that he is interested in what you want to tell him. But if the person leans back, then it means that he is very
casual and is not really very serious about what you are saying.
These gestures and signals are a good hint to understand what the person is likely to say or thinking about. But
just be sure that this is just an indication and is not always correct and accurate. There are many other body
language gestures and signals apart from what we have seen in this article which one must know to understand this
concept completely.
