Finding the Magic Languages of the Body
Reading the Movements of Languages of the Body
The body is our original
temple that when we are born it begins to move and send
out signals through verbal and nonverbal communications.
The body can convey languages by sending signals.
Sometimes the body language is conscious while other times
it is not; still it always has something to say. Sometimes
we as people have difficult relaying messages coming from
the emotions. This could lead us to cry, become angry,
frustrated, annoyed and the like. Some people in the
public while speaking may find themselves nervous, while
others may feel confident in the public eye. How can we
successfully speak in the public?
Casually starting off a conversation while looking the other
person in the eye is one suggestion for speaking in public,
this includes speaking casually to start while giving a speech.
This gesture breaks the ice especially if you are scanning the
room with the eyes, left to center to right, to right to center
to left. This lets everyone in the room know that you are aware
of them being in the room. After you break the ice you can then
prepare to move ahead comfortably.
Often a person will slightly turn as he is roaming the eyes
left to center to right and vise versa. Most people in public
giving speeches will also use the hands to relay a message. Try
to learn these hand moves before going to the speech, yet don’t
put a lot of emphasis on it, since the body will flow smoothly
if you are prepared. An open hand to the right and turned
sideways visa versa is one of the signals used at public
meetings, or where have you. This shows the audience that you
are stressing the point you are speaking. Many people will use
video visuals at the speech center to enhance their public
talks.
If you are joining in an interview always come prepared and
have your notes ready. After you are seated again start out
casually yet remain open to communication at all times. Before
going to the interview read some information and talk to people
who will help you learn more about the workplace and
interviewer. This is always helpful, since you will have a feel
of what you are getting into. This could relax the nerves a
bit.
While joining an interview keep the head at level, the eyes
focused, and the mind clear. Also try to avoid sweating hands,
especially during the initial visit, since you should shake
hands and introduce your self in a friendly manner. Sweaty
hands could indicate nervousness. If your head is held high or
at level rather, it will tell the interviewer, especially if
your posture is straight that you have confidence.
Few of the body languages conveyed, include the brisk
walking with posture straight. This is a signal that you are
confident, which can also mean that you are sure of yourself
and what you can offer. A confident person rarely has difficult
expressing him or her self in public or not. While seated at
the interview, avoid the leg crossing and kicking of the feet
gestures, since this could make the interviewer feel that you
are bored and anxious to leave.
If you are preparing for an interview or speech it makes
sense to go in prepared, while researching to learn more about
what you can do to prove successful at the public arenas. You
should always learn something on the subject before joining any
public meeting since it can help you feel more at home.
